Home & Mobile Office Ergonomics - AND - Extreme Ergonomics Accommodations

When is an office work station not an office work station? When we think of office ergonomics, large rows of cubicles in office buildings usually come to mind. But data entry happens in healthcare locations and so do awkward postures. This presentation will explore the challenges encountered by the University of California San Diego Health Ergonomics Team and the collaborative solutions created to keep healthcare providers safe.

This session provides an overview of basic ergonomic concepts and methods that can be used to adjust mobile and home office workstations. This includes a review of ergonomic concepts, furniture use, and equipment and tools that can be used to properly set up the workstation. The emphasis is on enabling session participants to independently assess their workspace and what resources are needed to make adjustments if needed. This session would also be appropriate for people with responsibility for addressing ergonomic issues for employees that are mobile workers or work from a home office.
